Richard "Dick" A. Titus Sr.

Richard “Dick” A. Titus Sr. was born February 23, 1950 in Des Moines, Iowa to Everett and Mary (Gasper) Titus. He passed away peacefully on his 70th birthday, surrounded by his family, while under the care of Taylor House Hospice.

Dick was the Lot Attendant for Stivers Lincoln Mercury (formerly Orville Lowe Lincoln Mercury) for over 40 years. He was a straight-forward, tell it like it is, kind of person. Dick enjoyed watching NASCAR and eating ice cream. His pride and joy were his “babies” and he loved spending time with them.

He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Lola; children, Lisa (Todd) Hodge and Richard “Sides” (Debbie) Titus; grandchildren, Jessica (Nate) Ihnen, Josh (Chelsea) Boyd, Ashley Henderson, Stephanie Dawson, Ashley (Nick) Titus, Bobby (Kellie) McKinney, Jason (Katie) McKinney, and Michael Laurent; and great-grandchildren, Brooklynn, Hunter, Maddox, Tori, Zoey, Jameson, and Lilah. Dick is also survived by his siblings, Betty (Kenny) Miller, Robert (Jill) Titus, and David (Marilyn) Titus; brothers and sisters-in-law, Leroy Bale, Boop (Bill) Morris, Ted Millard, Dixie Millard, Doc (Cherrie) Millard, Joy Millard, Missy (Don) Karasek, and Colleen Millard; and many nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.

Dick was preceded in death by his parents, Everett and Mary Titus; siblings, Doris and Raymond; nephew, Kenny Miller Jr.; in-laws, Art and Darlene Millard; brothers and sister-in-law, Artie, Punk, Sis (Leonard) and Larry McGuire; and niece, Lorrie Millard.

Services will be held at Hamilton’s Funeral Home, 605 Lyon Street, Des Moines. Visitation will be from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. Friday, February 28, 2020. Memorial service will begin at 2:30 p.m. Saturday, February 29, 2020.
