Diana,
Sue sent an e-mail saying that you had lost your husband. I went to the Des Moines Register website for information and learned that he had died while in Maui. I am so sorry that you are having to go through all of this. Please know that you have my deepest sympathy. Having been through this 9 1/2 years ago with Alan, I know all too well how you are suffering.
Love,

Diane and family, I worked with Dr. Bunten many years ago. He always treated all he worked with and cared for with respect and openness. If I would see him in a restaurant or store, he would acknowledge me by name and visit with me. I believe he was an excellent surgeon and gave excellent care. He was kind to all. I am sorry that I unable to make it to the visitation or funeral and would like to extend my sympathy to Diane and his family.
Sincerely,
Marva DeBoer

Diane,
I am so sorry for your loss. Dr. Bunten was a great otho surgeon and a wonderful person. I have many fond memories of rounding with the two of you on Younker 5 on the weekends, when he would "pitch hit" for the other surgeons. I will never foget all the effort and time he gave his patients. He is joining a great surgical team in Heaven. He will be missed by many patients, friends and family.

We are very sorry to hear the news of your Father's death
and wish the family a graceful and gentle hand in this transitional and difficult time.
Though I am certain that we sadly never had the opportunity to meet him, surely we would
have enjoyed him thoroughly as we have always
held all of you in the highest regard and in genuine affection.

We all travel through life touching and being touched by all we
pass by - never knowing what impression or mark we've left on each.
Always, we're aware of a few who've touched us in a very special way.
Dr. Bunten is one of a handful who've touched my life as he did.
His gentle kindness, his humor and wisdom made my time at DMOS some of my
fondest memories.
The sorrow I felt for Dr. Bunten this morning as I read of him in the paper
were mixed with tears and many fond and happy memories.
We extend our thoughts and prayers to Dr. Bunten's family.
Diane, the both of you meant so much to Cora and I. Our love and prayers.
Always, Dave and Cora

I grew up on East 11st Street, and Ron was a neighbor. We attended the same schools, went to the same church group, and we played kick-the-can etc. with all the other neighborhood kids. I will always remember his skill with the piano, his sense of humor, and his teasing. His intellience was evident in all his endeavors, and I knew he was destined for success. My sincerest sympathy to the family.
