Chris Rauch

Christopher Michael Rauch, 54, passed away August 7 th, 2026.

He was born June 4th, 1972 in St. Paul, Minnesota to his parents, Ronald and Lillian Rauch. He grew up on the East side of Des Moines and married the love of his life, Jill, on March 28th, 1994. After marriage and starting his family, he went back to school at DMACC and received his Associates in Welding. Chris was a member of the United Steelworkers (Local 310) and worked in the tire mold change department at Bridgestone/Firestone for the last 31 years.

He had many hobbies throughout his life. He enjoyed maintaining vehicles for his family and completing various home remodels and repairs. Chris also enjoyed hunting and doing anything from Powerlifting to Yoga for exercise. Most of all he enjoyed spending time with family, especially his grandchildren.

Chris is survived by his children, Katie (Aaron) Jordan, Christa Rauch, Zach (Shay) Rauch II, Travis; grandchildren, Kaleb, Brooklynn, Lilliana, Jamison, Jaxten, Esther, Thomas, and Mabel; father, Ronald Rauch; and brother, Tim Rauch.

He was preceded in death by his mom, Lillian Rauch; and twin brother, Zachary Rauch I.
Chris was deeply loved and will be deeply missed by those who were close to him.

Visitation for family and friends will be held Monday, August 17th, 2026 from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. at Hamilton’s near Highland Memory Gardens, 121 NW 60th Avenue in Des Moines, Iowa with funeral service to follow at 11:00 a.m.
