Matthew James Israel, 52, passed away April 17, 2026.

He was born February 4, 1974 in Omaha, Nebraska to his parents, Keith and Mary Israel. Matt graduated from Saydel High School. He started his career in the automotive industry before he transitioned to working for the family insurance agency but he found his joy in owning his own lawn and landscaping business for many years.

Matt loved biking, swimming, and running. He was a former competitive triathlete. Matt enjoyed working with his hands and could fix anything. Above all else, he cherished time spent with his daughters and loved being a dad. He will be deeply missed by his friends and family.

Matt was survived by his daughters Lexi Israel and Cloe Israel; parents, Keith and Mary Israel; brother, Keith (Laura) Israel Jr.; niece, Libby Israel; nephews, Drew Israel and Thomas Israel; and many other loving relatives and special friends.

Celebration of Life will be held Sunday, April 26, 2026 from 1:00 to 3:00 p.m. at Hamilton’s near Highland Memory Gardens, 121 NW 60th Avenue in Des Moines.
