Shannon Patrick O’Connor, 64, and Tammy Jeanne O’Connor, 55, of Alleman, Iowa, passed away unexpectedly on August 19, 2025.

Pat was born to James and Carolee O’Connor, and Tammy was born to Larry Draeger and Vonna Akers. Together, Pat and Tammy built a beautiful life centered around their blended family and the many passions they shared.

As a couple, Pat and Tammy enjoyed golfing, playing cards, camping, gardening, and spending time with their grandchildren. They loved watching their favorite TV shows—Big Brother, Dateline, and others—and treasured quiet evenings at home as much as adventures outdoors. Their garden was a true labor of love, one they enjoyed planning, planting, and watching flourish together.

Though deeply connected, Pat and Tammy also cherished their individual interests. Pat was a dedicated Minnesota Vikings and Chicago Cubs fan, enjoyed fantasy football, and loved gaming with his son, James. Tammy cheered for the Chicago Bears, had a passion for coin collecting, and enjoyed true crime shows. She also carried a deep love for dental hygiene, a field that reflected her caring and detail-oriented nature.

They are survived by their children, Brittney (Andrew) Ware, James O’Connor, and Aimee O’Connor; and grandchildren, Sydney, Isabelle, and Macklin Ware. Tammy is also survived by her mother, Vonna (Larry) Akers; and siblings, Scott (Sandra) Draeger. Pat is also survived by his siblings, Staci (Doug Steinlauf) Reeter; and Shawn (Antony Dawe) O'Connor Harvey .

They are preceded in death by James and Carolee O’Connor; Larry Draeger; and Shannon Patrick O’Connor Jr.

Family and friends are invited to gather in remembrance on Thursday, August 28, 2025, at Hamilton’s near Highland Memory Gardens, 121 NW 60th Ave, Des Moines, IA. Visitation will be held from 12:00 to 2:00 p.m., followed by a funeral service at 2:00 p.m. Pat and Tammy will be laid to rest at Highland Memory Gardens Cemetery, 1 NE 60th Ave. Des Moines, IA at a later date.

Pat and Tammy’s love for one another, their family, and the lives they built together will be forever remembered.
