Shelby Laughlin

Shelby Maxine Laughlin, 76, died Saturday, December 14, 2013, at Kavanagh on 56th in Des Moines. She was born June 4, 1937, in Corydon the daughter of John and Twila Bellon.

Shelby enjoyed quilting, sewing, crocheting and was a member of First Church of the Open Bible.

Shelby is survived by her daughters, Becky (Steve) Cannady, Barbara (John) Cox, and Kathy (Kevin) Swensen; grandchildren, Hannah, Samuel (Amanda), Karlee, Emma, Ashley, Stephanie, and Angie; two great-grandchildren; brothers, Terry Bellon, Victor (Barb) Bellon, Albert Bellon; sister, Leona Bardwell, Viola (Jim) Howie, Carmen Bellon; many nieces and nephews; and other beloved friends. She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Laughlin; brother, John Bellon; and sister, Nancy Gillaspy.

Visitation will be 6 to 8 p.m., Wednesday, December 18, 2013, at Hamilton’s near Highland Memory Gardens, 121 NW 60th Ave., Des Moines. Funeral services will be 10:00 a.m., Thursday, December 19, 2013, at First Church of the Open Bible, 2200 Beaver Ave., Des Moines. Burial will take place at 2:30 p.m., Thursday, December 19, at Corydon Cemetery.
