Helen R. Jones

Helen R. (Hilton) Jones was born July 5, 1930 in Emmetsburg, Iowa, to Ray and Velda (Sewell) Hilton. She passed away Monday, April 13, 2015, at Sunnyview Care Center in Ankeny at age 84.
Visitation will begin at 9:00 a.m., with memorial service at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, April 18, 2015, at Windsor United Methodist Church, 6222 University Avenue, Des Moines. Interment will take place at Emmetsburg Cemetery at a later date.
Helen graduated from Adel High School in 1948. She went on to earn her RN degree from Methodist School of Nursing in 1951. After her children graduated from high school, she then earned her bachelor’s degree from Coe College in 1984. Helen was a selfless person who was generous with time she devoted to others. She was an active member of Windsor United Methodist Church, helping with mission trips. Helen served on the board of Bidwell-Riverside Center and truly was a servant of others.
She is survived by her children, Carla Hilton (Bill), Randy Jones (Julie), Doug Jones (Susan) and Eric Jones (Brenda); son-in-law, Bob Chambers; grandchildren, Jena Cavil (T.C.), Zach Hilton (Jessie), Breanne Hilton, Andrew Jones (Chelsea), Michaela Jones, Carlton Jones, Caitlin Jones, Nathan Jones, Tyler Boeyink, Clayton Boeyink and Spencer Boeyink; and great-grandchildren, Jaylen Cavil, Raysean Gunn, Tyler Cavil, Laura Hilton, James Hilton, Susanna Hilton and John Hilton.
Helen was preceded in death by her daughter, Paula Chambers, parents and brother, Ron Hilton.
Memorial contributions are suggested to Windsor UMC or Bidwell-Riverside Center.

Dear Karla & Randy and the whole Family, My Aunt Zola Moore was a very Dear friend of your Mom's they went to the same Church and all the ladies at Windsor Methodist have such Wonderful things to say about your Mom :)

Sorry we are unable to visit with you to express our sympathy. Helen was a pretty, gracious lady. She was the roommate of my mother, Ruby Nail , for a year or more. She did a good job watching over and helping with mom at that time. Since then I have had a few opportunities to take Helen out for walks. Didn't know she was on Bidwell board where we help occasionally. She was a good person. Our condolences.
