Lila was born November 22, 1923 in Des Moines, IA to David and Florence Bosley. While attending North High School, she met her future husband, Darryel and they became high school sweethearts. After their marriage, Lila became a homemaker and loving mother to her four children. She kept an immaculate house and a beautiful flower garden. Living and sharing her faith with her children was so important to her. Lila was a kind and loving soul full of grace and had a profound impact on everyone she met. She welcomed all that she met and never had an unkind word to say about anyone. She made everyone feel important, especially her three daughters-in-law and her son-in-law.

Lila had been an active member for many years with the Highland Park Presbyterian Church, the same church where she was baptized as an infant. More recently, her membership has been with Covenant Presbyterian Church in West Des Moines where she devoted much of her time.

Left to cherish her memory are her children, David (Bobbie) Cherry, Joe (Anne) Cherry, and John (Liddy) Cherry; son-in-law, Scott Telford; 9 grandchildren, Jason (Mary) Cherry, Lindsay Stewart, Josh (Brianne) Cherry, Emily (Eugene Velednitsky) Augenackis, Greg (Molly) Telford, Melissa Cherry, Ryan (Jazzmin) Cherry, Alycia (Loren) Carroll and Elijah Cherry; 13 great-grandchildren; brothers-in-law, Dr. Robert Holland and Bob Cherry; nieces, Midge Rollins, Cindy (Peter) Tracy, Susan (Tom) Clough, and Kristine Johnson; nephews, Jim (Linda) Gay-Robinson, Robert (Lori) Holland, David (Karen) Holland and Kevin (Chris Ann) Bass; and many other friends Lila touched throughout her life.
