Toni Thompson, age 61, passed away on September 6, 2020 at Mercy Hospital in Des Moines. Toni was born the daughter of Raymond and Reva Cox on March 22, 1959 in Des Moines, Iowa.

Toni attended North High School. She worked in the bakery at SuperValu on Park Ave., Koch Brothers and most recently at Anawim Housing. Toni was a beautiful and multi-talented woman. She spent most of her life writing poems and enjoyed drawing trees. Toni loved the Lord and was a longtime member of Salvation Army Church. Above everything, she cherished time spent with family, especially her grandbabies.

Those left to cherish her memory include her loving children, David (Jessica Samuelson) Cox, Melissa (Nathaniel Sneller) Sanders, Raymond (Jasmin Larsen) Thompson, Billy (Stephanie) Allison, and Mark (Aleema Boyers) Johnson; 15 grandchildren with one on the way; 9 great-grandchildren with one on the way; sisters, Diane Mason, Doris Carpenter and Kelli (Steve) Vorrath; special nephew, Jon (Jen) Carpenter; special friends, Nick and Angie Petefish; and a host of extended family and friends.

Toni was preceded in death by her parents; and sister, Roxanne Thompson.

Private family services will be held at a later date.
