Karen Stanford

Karen Lee Stanford, age 76, passed away Friday, February 18, 2022.

Karen was born June 26, 1945 in Des Moines, Iowa to William and Gladys (Travis) Dennis. She was a lifelong resident of the Des Moines area. Karen’s family was her greatest love. She treasured time spent with her daughter and her grandsons. She loved going shopping with her daughter and out to lunch with her sisters and family.

Karen was a beautician in her younger years. She worked very hard to keep a neat home and was fastidious in her appearance. She was perfect in every aspect. She was a resilient and strong woman.

Karen had a wonderful sense of humor and she loved to laugh. She will be missed every moment by those who loved her.

She is survived by her daughter, Christine Nollan (Rob); grandsons, Nate Nollan and Ben Nollan; siblings, Sharon Dennis, Patty Michaels, and Paul Dennis (Sue); and other extended family and friends.

Karen was preceded in death by her parents, Bill and Gladys Dennis.

Services will be held on Wednesday, February 23, 2022 at Heritage Assembly of God, 5051 NE 5th Street, Des Moines, IA 50313. Visitation will begin at 11:00 a.m., followed by funeral service at 12:00 p.m. Burial will take place at Rising Sun Cemetery after the funeral.
