Alyssa was the sunshine in her family’s life. Born September 11, 2002, she was sweet and funny with a great sense of humor. She was a little social butterfly who spread joy wherever she went. Alyssa loved drawing and taking selfies. She was a special 12 year old who like playing video games and loved animals.
She will be forever missed and loved by her dad, Damian Morgan; her mom, Nicole Morgan; and her siblings, Livy, Adam and Rachel. She will also be lovingly remembered by her grandparents, David and Debra Hanson and Clay and Liz Morgan and her great-grandparents, Mae Countryman and Maria and Juanquin Castro.
Alyssa tragically left this earth far too soon on Thursday, April 9, 2015. The family respectfully asks for privacy while they celebrate Alyssa’s life and mourn her passing. There will be no public services held at this time.

Thank you to all who expressed condolences to us, my sister was my other half and unfortunately I will never be whole without her again. Still healing five years later she would have graduated this year and that makes it even harder. Please reach out to me if you have stories or pictures of her. I didn't know Alyssa. I came across her name while just going through the internet, read her story, and cried. It doesn't take me to know her to know it was a horrible tragedy. She is the youngest person I've heard that has committed suicide and her age sends waves of great sadness through me. It is a shame that she never named who pushed her over the edge like this and it's a greater shame this goes on. I know I won't be able to sleep tonight now that I've learned about her but I shouldn't knowing stuff like this happens. My deepest most heartfelt condolences, Family of Alyssa Morgan.

Dear family of Alyssa Morgan in Des Moines, IA,
Please accept the heartfelt condolences from our nonprofit BiNet USA and the bisexual community. BiNet USA is a 25 year old 501c3 non profit and I am it's president, Faith Cheltenham.
We are seeking to draw attention to Alyssas death from suicide and the need for more support for bisexual youth who report thinking of suicide much more often than their gay, lesbian and straight peers.
Today we have several blogs and news outlets working on stories related to this weekend's passing of Adam Kizer in Sonoma, CA. Adam was a bright, warm and funny teen who was bullied severely. Like Alyssa, he suffered until he could fight no more.
We wish to help take up the fight for Adam, for Alyssa, and the too many gone.

You may also be considering legal action due to the discrimination Alyssa may have experienced at the hands of her school district. Lastly, we have worked with the White House on issues relating to the bisexual community in America. I want to suggest you write a letter about your daughter to President Obama who has been a staunch supporter of the B in LGBT. Tell him the whole story and ask for his help in making sure Alyssa's legacy means real support specifically targeting bisexual youth in America.
I would be proud to forward that letter to the White House and the administration officials that work to make school safer for everyone.

Alyssa was an amazing person and it hurts to know shes gone. I loved her so much. We were getting to know each other before she died but that's okay cause now i can say she was part of my life, and im glad she was because i don't know what id do without her to talk to. I will miss her so much and so will a lot of others. She was in one of my classes last quarter and every time someone would be sad or mad she would put a huge smile on everyone's faces. Shes in a better place now, shes not suffering of anything and shes probably dancing up there in heaven. I will be praying for your family, She will be missed by me a lot. I love you Alyssa rip bbg:(

My daughter is in 7th grade at SE Polk. Although the girls were not acquainted, our heart felt condolences go out to you and your family. Our family lost our 13 year old son in a tragedy. Words can not express the pain a family feels at the loss of a child nor can anyone truly understand exactly what you are going through. May Alyssa rest in peace and may her family know that many prayers are going up for you all.

Alyssa was a amazing person and friend. I love her so much and I can't believe she's gone. She. made me laugh she mad my days better. We made jokes about weird/funny things. She would light up my day. I'm going to miss her. She was my pineapple buddy and my bubbles. She is beautiful, nice, funny, her hair is pretty. I'll see Alyssa you again some day .
