Ruth Kendall
August 12, 2011
Ruth Beatrice Kendall, 82, passed away unexpectedly Friday August 12, 2011 at her home.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, August 16, 2011 at Hamilton’s Funeral Home, 605 Lyon Street, followed by burial at Laurel Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 5 to 7 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.
Ruth was born October 7, 1928 to Leonard and Lucille Williams-Davis in Des Moines, Iowa. She married Harry Kendall on June 30, 1957 and they loved each other for 54 years until his passing in 2006. Now they are together forever.
Ruth enjoyed puzzles, reading, and the Food Network. She loved to tell us stories about her life to make us feel better about any problems we faced as we grew. She was a friend to everyone. Ruth could sit down next to a person and start talking to them as if she knew them her whole life. There were no strangers to Ruth Kendall, just friends she hadn’t met yet.
Ruth was preceded in death by her mother, Lucille and stepfather, William Davis; her father, Leonard Williams; and her husband, Harry Kendall. She is survived by her children, Cody Vincent, Angea Kendall, Andrew Kendall, and Gigi Beeler; and six grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Animal Rescue League of Iowa or the American Diabetes Association.
