Ron Rose

Ron Rose, 82, died Wednesday, September 14, 2011, at Iowa Lutheran Hospital. He was born November 13, 1928, to Harvey and Lillian Rose in Des Moines.

Ron served in the US Marine Corp, was a member of the American Legion and a benefactor of the NRA. He retired from the City of Des Moines after 20 years of service. Ron attended Grace Church. He enjoyed woodworking and was a gunsmith.

Ron is survived by his wife of 59 years, Gloria Rose; son, Matt (Tammi) Rose; grandchildren, Matthew, Zachary, Austin, Emily, Hunter and Kara; and his great-grandson, Payton. He was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Don Rose.

Funeral services will be held 1 p.m. Saturday, September 17, 2011, at Hamilton’s Funeral Home, 605 Lyon Street, with burial to follow at Highland Memory Gardens Cemetery. Family will greet friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
