Fay A. Lenzini

Alfida “Fay” Lenzini, 99, passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family Wednesday, September 21, 2011 at Bishop Drumm Retirement Center in Johnston.
Fay was born September 7, 1912 in Carney, Iowa, the daughter of Guesseipe and Nazarena Pagliai.  She retired from the Saydel School District as a cook and was a member of All Saints Catholic Church and the Vittoria Lodge Auxiliary.
Fay is survived by her daughters, Dolores Weaver of Centennial, Colorado and Norma Jean (Chuck) Van Houten of Des Moines; sons, Bruno G. Lenzini of Ankeny and Frank (Josephine) Lenzini of Des Moines; 18 grandchildren; 35 great-grandchildren; 18 great-great-grandchildren; other loving relatives and many special friends.  She was preceded in death by her loving husband of 60 years, Bruno Lenzini; her sister, Alice Saia and her parents.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, September 24, 2011 at All Saints Catholic Church, 650 NE 52nd Ave. with burial to follow at Glendale Cemetery.  The family will greet friends from 5 to 7 p.m. Friday, September 23, 2011 at the church where a rosary will be recited starting at 7 p.m.
Memorial contributions may be directed to Bishop Drumm Retirement Center or All Saints Catholic Church in loving memory of Fay.

To all the Lenzini Family, our deepest sympathy and I will alway remember all the good times our familes spent together. Now they are together again. So sorry I was out of town and that I couldn't pay my respects in person.

I will always remember Faye for the best school lunches a kid could ever want. I can still taste the pasta and fresh, warm rolls. The kids at other schools could never believe how well we ate at Canary Lake Elementary School. Clean plates were never an issue.
She was a fine lady. God bless her family.
