Sandy and Brian
The Perkins family would like to extend their condolances and prayers to your family. Dad and Mom (Don and Shirley) had such huge respect and admiration for Mert. Her friendship meant a great deal to them over the years. I remember many visits and particulary remember her laugh. ( And teasing my Dad as badly as he teased her)
We hope that your grief is tempered by Many happy memories

Thinking about Mert while reading about her passing in the paper brought back many heart-warming memories from living in "the other" beauty shop (The Beauty Nook) on 6th Street in Waukee. Between Mert and the Bain's - growing up there was a fun life.
With Deepest Sympathies,
Sue and Gary Parmentier

What I loved about my grandma!!
Living with her one summer, playing Wheel of Fortune (she was the best), hot fudge sundaes every night, great meals (no one will ever make gravy like Gma), and so very many more things.
Growing up used to wish she would marry again as she lived more than half of her life widowed, but at the same time I had SOOOOOOOO much respect for her whe she would say it was so good, she could never be that lucky again. God speed Gma, and can't wait to see ya again someday.
