Hi Freddie, Anne, Debbie and Bob I'm so sorry for your loss. I'm in Fort Dodge for my Mom's funeral and Sunday morning I'm confronted with Fred's obituary. I'm planning to attend his funeral this Saturday. Your dad and brother was very dear to me and a great friend. I assumed he'd be around for a few more years. I hope the fishing's better where he is now but he did an excellent job with everything while he was on this earth.
We've been friends since we were 17 and worked at the Country Boy. I hope I gave him as much as he gave me.
God Bless you all, John Moore

Fred was a great friend, since high school. We had some great times working to together at the Country Boy Drive-In, Walgreens and eventually Paul Revere's Pizza. I will miss him, but the memories of our times together are the things I can keep, like climbing on the roof of the restaurant to scare the night janitor at 3am, the only motorcycle I ever fell off of was the back of his, the good times spent in John Moore's basement listening to the Beatles and other stuff! There are too many stories, but so many memories. Fred your Dad was a great guy, I hope you have many of the same qualities, except for being so pig-headed!!

My condolences to the family of Fred Reese II. I am a cousin of Bessie (wife of Cecil) Reese, although she was close to my mother's age. I was born and grew up in Lamoni, but have lived most of my adult life here in Albia. My parents were Clarence and Ora May (Coffelt) Martin. I had a brother Don and a sister Iris. I remember stopping in Fort Dodge to see Frederick I and his wife and little boys on our way to Don's home in Swea City. I used to visit Meredith and Deannie Reese in Lamoni and I believe that the youngest brother's name was Donnie. I seldom get back to Lamoni anymore, but my parents and many relatives are buried there in Rose Hill Cemetary. I am wondering if any of the Reese family is still living there? My husband, Richard Frits, was originally from Des Moines but was killed in action in the Philipine Islands in WWII. Was Fred II injured in Vietnam?

I was so sorry to read about Fred's passing. I'll always have fond memories of all the "kids" in our neighborhood when we were growing up. Please accept my condolences.

This is to send my sympathy to Fred's family. Fred was a faithful and loyal employee and friend at Bascom Truck and Auto for many years. I could always count on Fred to do a good job. Fred told me many times, "You're gonna miss me when I am gone." and he was right.
