I had the privilege to meet Ruth at St. Mary of Nazareth. She had a booth with her dolls. I fell in love with her work and purchased one of her dolls.

I have been saving pages from the article about Mary's Hat Ladies Dolls, from Crafts and Decorating Showcase section, perhaps Better Homes and Gardens Magazine, March 2000 issue, for years. I am so sorry to learn about Mary's passing. Mary made beautiful dolls!!! May she rest in peace!

I very much enjoyed interactions with Ruth during dinnertime at Altoona. She sat at the same table with my mother. She had the most beautiful blue eyes and she would always smile when I commented on them. At Christmas time, it was so special to see the huge smile on her face when Santa presented her with a gift. My thoughts are with her family and friends.
