Floyd J. Mount
August 01, 2012
Floyd J. Mount, 70, passed away on Wednesday, August 1, 2012 surrounded by his family. He was such a fighter! The family is sure there are three cats without any lives left as Floyd has needed to use them over the years.
Services will be held on Sunday, August 5, 2012 at Hamilton’s on Westown Parkway, 3601 Westown Parkway in West Des Moines at 2:00 p.m. Family will greet friends immediately following the service.
Floyd was born on November 7, 1941, the son of Mildred (Brooks) and Floyd Mount and graduated from Saydel HS. He worked as an auto mechanic for much of his career. Floyd enjoyed dirt bike riding, street rod building and could fix anything! He loved to tinker.
He will be greatly missed by his wife, Linda; daughters, Amy (T.J.) Ballard, Abby (Joe) Cosby and Valerie (Bobby) Terrell; sons, Calvin (Mariana) Burch, Dan (Michelle) Burch, Ben (April) Burch; sisters, Joyce (Roy) Malone, and Mary Jane (Jerry) Pierson; brother, William “Henny” Fisher; 22 grandchildren; and 2 great-grandchildren.
