I came upon Don's name in my father's military records. I remember the references to Corny from Ankeny, Iowa. They were good friends during flight training and perhaps afterwards toward the end of the war. They kept in contact for a number of years after the war although it was hard to do so at the time. My father had very fond memories of Corny and I believe that he must have been a fine pilot and person.

What a great genuine guy he was. I would see him on Sunday mornings at Ankeny United Methodist Church because he and my Dad would be ushering together. Don would always have a smile & took the time to visit. My parents regarded Don & Dorothy as great friends and great people. They leave a wonderful legacy for their families and friends.
