Kimi Kay was born April 24, 1974 in Des Moines, Iowa to Robert and Linda. Kim graduated from the University of Iowa with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing. Upon graduation, Kim began a lifelong career at the University of Iowa Hospital as an RN, always giving comfort and care to those who needed her. Working many long, hard hours but always doing what she loved – helping others. Kim was very accomplished and adept in her field. She took an active role on several committees including the Shared Governance Committee/Staff Nurse Consultant Panel. Kim had been nominated numerous times for the Daisy Award. She received an accreditation for Medical Surgical Nursing RN-BC in 2012. Kim volunteered her time at Thanksgiving on the children's oncology floor serving self-prepared meals to families to assure her love of family and unity. She gave of herself in every aspect of her life and was loved and highly praised by her patients as well as her coworkers. Kim gained her angel wings Tuesday, December 31, 2013 at the age of 39 and is now at peace, fully resting with the Lord.
