Michael Sarppo

Michael R. Sarppo, 52, passed away Tuesday, July 29, 2014 at Taylor House.
Michael was born November 7, 1961 in Clinton Township, Minnesota. He served in the U.S. Army. Michael was a jack of all trades, a devoted family man, a hardworking service manager at Acme Tools and a car enthusiast. He enjoyed playing slow pitch softball and was an active member of Southtown Baptist Church.
Michael is survived by his children, Michael Sarppo, Jr., Jaymie Sarppo, Melissa and Amy Johnson; grandchildren, Brian Saylor, Jr., Nicholas Winter and Johnnathen Johnson; mother, Phyllis Sarppo; brothers, Paul and Gary Sarppo; sisters, Ronda and Debra Sarppo; brothers-in-law, Jack Brown, Kenny and Denny Bentley; sister-in-law, Connie Baker; and a host of extended family and beloved friends.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Vicki Sarppo; step-son, Jeremiah Johnson; and his father, Robert Sarppo.
A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, August 2, 2014 at Southtown Baptist Church, 6001 SE 5th Street.

I was fortunate to meet Michael for the first time recently. Despite his situation he was smiling and positive. He was a great man and loved his family very much. I am so sorry for your loss as i know his presence will be missed. God Bless you all

So sorry for your loss, Michael and his family were my neighbors when we were growing up. I have tried to get a hold of the family but have not been able to get in contact with them. Michael was a good guy and a great friend.
