Marilyn Shepard

Marilyn Marie Shepard, 77, passed away unexpectedly Sunday, November 16, 2014.

Marilyn was born on February 14, 1937 in Des Moines, Iowa to Charles and Ethel Roseberry. She was a member of Eastside Church of the Nazarene and the Red Hat Society. Marilyn enjoyed crocheting and loved all types of animals, especially dogs. But above all, Marilyn treasured time spent with family.

Marilyn is survived by her children, Norman (Sheila) Backstrom of Kansas, Wes Backstrom of Des Moines, Jesse (Danielle) Shepard of Des Moines, Joseph (Crystal) Shepard of Missouri, Charles Shepard of Des Moines, and Joanne Epps of Wisconsin.

She was preceded in death by her parents and brother, Marvin Roseberry.

Visitation will be held from 12:30 to 2:30 p.m., followed by funeral services at 2:30 p.m., Thursday, November 20, 2014 at Hamilton’s Funeral Home, 605 Lyon Street, Des Moines. Private family burial will take place at Bondurant Cemetery.
