Sherry Lee Hornbacher

Sherry L. Hornbacher, 45, passed away March 22, 2015, at Taylor House Hospice surrounded by her loved ones. She was born on July 12, 1969, in Des Moines, to LaVerne Bieghler and Linda Gauley.
Sherry graduated from Johnston High School in 1988. She was united in marriage to Craig Hornbacher on February 14, 1999. Sherry worked for the Saydel School District for 8 years and was a volunteer EMT and Firefighter for Saylor Township and Delaware Township. She was also a Delaware Township Trustee Chair and a member of the Iowa Firefighters Association.
Sherry was a member of Bethany Reformed Church and enjoyed being in the sun, swimming, baking, and cake decorating. Above all, she treasured her family and loved spending time with her children and family.
Sherry is survived by her husband, Craig Hornbacher; her children, Jeni Hornbacher, Daniel Hornbacher, Elvi Olgren, Nicholas Olgren, Lisa Cory, and Ashley Hornbacher; nieces, Jasmine and Janessa Bieghler; three grandchildren; her parents, LaVerne and Linda; brother, LaVerne Bieghler; and her sister, Sue Royce.
Memorial services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, March 27, 2015, at Bethany Reformed Church, 720 NE 52nd Avenue in Des Moines, with a celebration of life to follow at the Saylor Township Fire Department, 211 NW 54th Avenue, Des Moines. A memorial visitation will be held at the church from 5 to 9 p.m. Thursday evening, with the family present from 6 to 8 p.m.
Memorial contributions may be directed to Taylor House Hospice in loving memory of Sherry.

She was an excellent associate at Woodside Middle School she is one of the most nicest and most loving and caring person I have ever met she was my favorite associate at my school . You will always be our favorite Mrs.Hornbacher And you will always be in our hearts and we will think about you everyday . RIP Mrs.Hornbacher ??????
