Kristen Webb
July 24, 2015
The life of Mary Kristen (Blake) Webb will be celebrated at Valley Church, 4343 Fuller Road in West Des Moines, IA. Visitation will be held Monday, July 27 from 6 to 8:30 p.m. and the celebration of her life on Tuesday, July 28 at 10:30 a.m. Burial will be at Waukee Cemetery in Waukee, IA.
Kristen was born January 22, 1984 and went to be with her Lord on July 24, 2015. She valiantly fought a battle with breast cancer for nearly three years after being diagnosed August 22, 2012.
Kristen graduated with honors from Des Moines Christian High School and then earned her BS in Marketing from Drake University. After a career with Van Meter Industrial, she attended DMACC to earn credits for entry into a Physician’s Assistant program at DMU. Kristen married her sweetheart Donny Webb, September 4, 2010.
She was a talented singer-former all-state, and often led worship at Valley Church-Traditions, and occasionally sang in the choir at Westkirk Presbyterian. Kristen volunteered with the Kindergarten at Joshua Christian Academy, and actively participated with Katie’s Crusaders, our breast cancer support group. Kristen loved Jesus with all her heart and was passionate about her husband, Donny and her family. She adored her many friends and enjoyed laughter and fun with them, even when she was in Hospice.
Kristen is survived by her husband, Donny Webb; parents, Roger and Karen Blake; sister, Trisha (Lee) Gross; niece, Emma Gross; nephew, Ian Gross; and her grandmother, Ruth Blake.
In lieu of flowers, Kristen wishes for donations to be made to Katie’s Crusaders of Waukee, Joshua Christian Academy of Des Moines, or Des Moines Christian School Foundation. Condolences may be expressed online at www.HamiltonsFuneralHome.com.

Donnie,
I wish I could have met Kristen. She sounds as good as your mother. I can tell you really loved her. Hopefully, her faith and belief in you will give you strength as you work through your grief.

Kristen was someone I met while visiting my daughter Andrea, who considered Kristen to be one of her best friends. I had the good fortune of seeing Kristen several times. I say good fortune because it is not often that you meet someone who had the qualities she possessed. Donny, Kristen made everyone around her happier. I did not know Kristen well, but I will not forget her smile, her attitude and the way she made others feel while in her presence.

Donny.... Kristen was a gift to all of us. She oozed sweetness and was such a kind soul. I will never forget the time we spent with her at Taylor House when her sense of humor and loving spirit was so evident even when she could barely open her eyes or say anything. That time was a true gift to me and the other Katie's Crusaders that were with her. You will always be a member of the Katie's family!.
