Margel Sanders

Margel Sanders, 76, went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, July 28, 2015. She was born April 27, 1939 to Clive and Rita Leonard.
Margel was one of Jehovah’s Witnesses, and remained active in her church all throughout her life. She graduated from Altoona High School in 1958. Margel was a team mother, who volunteered her time fundraising for her boys Little League and East High School Activities. Margel had many passions such as making jewelry, arranging flowers, and crocheting. She enjoyed listening to 50’s music and watching Crime Shows. Above all, her greatest passion was her family and she was always involved in her children’s activities.
She is survived by her daughter, Rita Wiand; sons, Robert Sanders and Rodney (Elizabeth) Sanders; brothers-in-law, Ronald (Judy) Sanders, Dale (Charlene) Duggar, Jim (Patty) Mason, and Larry (Judy) Depenning; half-brother-in-law, Ron Elliot; half-sister, Carolyn Cowles; grandchildren, Sarah (Michael) Delmege, Krystal Wiand, Angela Wiand, Dakota Sanders, and Quincy Creagan; great-grandchildren, Adalea Evans, Ayden Wiand, Timothy Delmege, Sophia Delmege, and Francesca Delmege; nieces, Ronnell Sanders, Tracy (Joe) Farnum, and Cheryl Frink; nephews, Aaron (Jennifer) Sanders, Patrick Depenning, Corey Mason, Gerald Mason, Ron Dugger, Chad Dugger, David Frink, Steven Frink, Brian Daggett, Andrew Leonard, Karen Leonard, Ron Elliot, Jr., and Cindy Lou Elliot.
Margel was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Marland Sanders; daughter, Erica Marie Sanders; brother, Russell (Liz) Leonard; half-sister, Barb Elliot; and nephew, Dennis Sanders.
Celebration of Life will be held from 5 to 8 p.m., Monday, August 3, 2015 at Hamilton’s Funeral Home, 605 Lyon Street in Des Moines. Memorial contributions may be directed to the family.

Sorry I missed the funeral but I hadn't heard I only seen it to late posted on Todd millers post .... Your parents were amazing you all should be proud of who you are!!! They were great great people
And will greatly missed !!! I love you guys ... I'm so sorry I couldn't be there to cry with you! If I only knew ... I feel like a bad brother now
