Stanislaw “Stan” Kot, 62, died Wednesday, September 2, 2015 at his home surrounded by his family.
He was born April 20, 1953 in Poland to Wladyslaw and Franciszka (Brzezina) Kot.
Stan is survived by his wife, Elzbieta “Ela” Kot; son, Marek (Ginger) Kot; daughter, Beata (Andrew) Wilson; grandchildren, Oliver, Gavin, and Zuzanna; sisters, Maria (Mieczyslaw) Staroch and Zenobia (Jozef) Blaszczak; and sister-in-law, Kazimiera Kot.
Stan was proceeded in death by his parents, brother Henryk and his granddaughter Natalia.
Stanislaw was a family man, who loved his wife of 38 years and his two children. His three grandchildren, were the light of his life. Stanislaw was born and raised in Poland, where he spent most of his adult life. As a seasoned traveler, he lived on three continents and succeed in relocating his family to United States, which he was proud to call his home. Stanislaw was a skilled electrician, who enjoyed supporting his family. He also loved to have a good time and was an active member of the Polish-American Cultural Society of Des Moines.
Visitation will be held from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m., Friday, September 11, 2015 at Hamilton’s Funeral Home, 605 Lyon Street, Des Moines. Mass of Christian Burial will be 1:00 p.m., Saturday, September 12, at St. Anthony Catholic Church, 15 Indianola Road, Des Moines. Burial of cremated remains will take place in Poland at a later date.
