Dale Alan Brunotte was born December 2, 1951 in Des Moines, Iowa, the son of Gerald and Esther (Sexton) Brunotte. He passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family Saturday, March 12, 2016 at Mary Greeley Medical Center from complications of cancer.

Dale graduated with a Masters in Geology from Iowa State University and then joined the Peace Corps. He worked as a professor at the University of Malaysia for numerous years. Upon his return to the United States, Dale became an Environmental Specialist for Air Quality with the Department of Natural Resources. Above all else, he treasured time spent with his family.

Dale is survived by his loving wife of 30 years, Mary; children, Olivia (Akshay), Jennifer (Neal), Florina, Florian, Thomas, Rose (Lam Mun Tong), Clare (Samson) and Veronica; many grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; siblings, Jack Brunotte and Jean (Tom) Coe; niece, Melanie; nephews, Kevin and Scott; other loving relatives and many special friends. He was preceded in death by his parents.

The family will greet friends from 5 to 8 p.m. Thursday, March 17, 2016 at Hamilton’s Mitchellville Funeral Home, 303 Center Avenue South in Mitchellville. Mass of Christian Burial will be 10 a.m. Friday, March 18, 2016 at St. Cecilia Catholic Church, 2900 Hoover Avenue in Ames with burial to follow at Mitchellville Cemetery.
