Vincent Louis Basile II

Vincent Louis Basile, II, 53, died Tuesday, September 20, 2016 in Lee’s Summit, MO in a plane accident along with his daughter, Kelli Basile. Services will be held at Faith Lutheran Church, 10395 University Ave. in Clive, IA with visitation Sunday, September 25 from 3 to 5 p.m. and the Celebration of Life on Monday, September 26 at 4:30 p.m.
Vince was born March 9, 1963 in Camden, New Jersey to Judie (Janes) and Vincent Basile. He graduated from Dover High School and served in the U.S. Army. He later graduated from Upper Iowa University with his Bachelor’s Degree and worked as an Engineering Manager & Lead Designer at Innovative Manufacturing & Engineering, Inc. and at Engineered Products & Solutions. Vince was a devoted father who coached his daughters in softball, soccer, basketball and volleyball. He enjoyed camping and tailgating at Iowa State with family and friends. Vince was a passionate pilot that loved flying. He always had a joke and saw the humor in life. He brought a smile to many and was always willing to lend a hand.
He is survived by his wife of 27 years, Beth Basile; his daughter, Nicole (Carl) Kirpes; his parents; and his siblings, Dani Renaud, Lissa Basile, Jeff Janes, and Joshua Janes.

Please wear Iowa State apparel in memory of Vince or yellow in memory of Kelli’s favorite color to the visitation on Sunday evening.

My heart broke for you, Beth and Nicole, as well for all your close friends and family. Vince was what I would call "a swell guy." During all those years of he and Kurt putting together my vision for church musicals, his dedication, sense of humor, and creativity helped pass the hours of painting, nailing, and set-up fly by. There really are no words I can say to ease your pain, but just know he put a little sunshine in my life during those long winter hours at the church. He indeed was a "whale" of a character. He and Kelli will be missed.
