Chantez Eugene Saunders

Chantez “Tez” Saunders, age 40, passed away Sunday, July 16, 2017, in his home in Des Moines. Tez was born the son of Kendrell and Beverly on June 1, 1977 in Des Moines, Iowa.
Some of his hobbies and interests included, basketball, going to the Iowa State Fair, and going out to dinner. He loved all holidays and the joy of receiving presents. Tez especially enjoyed attending the day program at Passageway and loved all of his friends and the staff including those at his group homes. Above all, Tez had a strong love for Jesus! He will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him!
There will be a memorial service on Monday, July 24, 2017, at Christ the King Catholic Church, 5711 SW 9th Street, Des Moines, beginning at 11:00 a.m.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to Passageway.

I just learned that Chantez passed. I will miss seeing him at Sunday Mass. I made special effort to make conversation with him whenever I saw him. My deepest condolences to his family and friends at passageways. May he rest in eternal peace.

Chantez's life was a huge success as he achieved the most important thing on earth: to dwell forever in the home of the Lord. Chantez loved the Church and loved Jesus. Christ The King Parish became his family. There will always be a special place in my heart for my good buddy, "Tez".
