Service Details
Theodore “Teddy” Downard, 74, passed away Tuesday, January 27, 2009 at Mercy Hospice in Johnston after a short battle with cancer. Teddy was born July 13, 1934.
Teddy is survived by his loving wife, Alemeta; daughters, Cindy (Lawrence) Cooper, Rhonda Downard (Kevin Lewis); son, Craig (Brenda) Downard; grandchildren, Bekki, Alesha, Luke, Ryhanna, Alex and Braden; three brothers and one sister. He was preceded in death by his parents, one sister and one brother.
A celebration of life service will be held 10:00a.m. Friday, January 30, 2009 at Hamilton's near Highland Memory Gardens, 121 NW 60th, Des Moines.
Memorial Contributions may be made to Mercy Hospice in Johnston in loving memory of Teddy.

We are so thankful for the time we had with Ted when we lived in Des Moines.
We have many wonderful memories and those will live on in our hearts. We hated the suffering that Ted and all of you have had to go through these last few months, but he suffers no more. His memories will live on through all of his loved ones.
We are sorry that we are not able to be at his celebration of life service, but our thoughts and prayers are with all of you.
