My heartfelt sympathy goes out to you all!! Dave was a very sweet guy. I am one of the people on Discusscooking.com that he frequented. He was so excited about becoming a great granpa too. I'm so happy that he was able to experience that!!
Dave will be missed so much. I find comfort in knowing that he will not have to endure the pain and sickness that was coming. Our lord spared him his suffering. God Bless you all and I will keep you in my thoughts and prayers. Goodbye Dave and thank you for being a sweet and caring person. You will be missed, but, God has given us one more angel to watch over us. Rest in Peace my friend.

To Dave's sister and family,
Please accept my sincere condolences. Take comfort in the knowledge that Dave will live on in the hearts and minds of all who knew and loved him. He became very special to me in a very short time. I enjoyed our conversations about Judaism, life and food. I am only sorry that I never got to bake for him as I had promised.
He will be truly missed. As Terry said, Dave was an old-fashioned gentleman and I am glad that I got to know him.
Peace be with you,
Susan

Dave or Gramps as we called him at discuss cooking, was a very special man. He was always ready to add a soothing word for those in pain and words of wisdom for those in need of advice. I will miss all his input and I am thankful he was here with a kind thought when I put my dog to sleep and in my heart I believe he is taking care of my Tyler until I meet up with him again. My thoughts and prayers are with his family, I am so very sorry for their loss.

Oh Dave, we thought you were coming along. You even got to go home from the hospital.
It was such a shock to log on to discusscooking forum and hear of your passing.
My heart hurts so bad because we were all routing for you. And I was just finding out what a great guy you were through all the others there.
I had hoped to get to know you alittle better, personally.
But now you are truly home and, I hope, looking down on us and now know how you've touched us all.
They say you were a veteran too. I salute you and say thank you.
You will truly be missed in my heart.
Be at peace.

We were so fortunate to get the chance to meet Dave for lunch last year, and to get to talk to him through emails and through our food forum. Dave gave us a big jar of his home-made seasoning mix, which we love. He was a very special, and very caring man. He will be missed very much by many people in all parts of the world.
