Robert Arthur Jones

Robert “Bob” Jones, 94, passed away in Des Moines on June 30, 2020. He was born in Eau Claire, Wisconsin, on December 6, 1925, to Clarence “Buck” and Marie Jones.

Following high school graduation in 1943, Bob was drafted into the United States Army serving as a cryptologist in the Lucian Islands. After returning home he attended Eau Claire State Teachers College. Bob was then called back to duty with the Army Reserves during the Korean War and was stationed in Colorado.

Bob was united in marriage to Jean Marie Weeks in 1948. He worked as a paper salesman for various companies throughout his career, retiring in 1988 from Fort Howard Paper Company in Green Bay, Wisconsin.

Bob is survived by his son, Aaron (Julie) Jones; grandchildren, Carolyn (Shawn) Miner, Nathan (Kelly) Jones, Kristin Jones, Gina (Brian) McDonough, and Margot Grozier; great-grandchildren, Allison, Claire, Sam, and Jack; son-in-law, Michael Grozier; his brother, James (Sherry) Jones, as well as other loving family and friends. He was preceded in death by his wife, Jean Marie Jones; son, David Jones, and his daughter, Susan Grozier.

Memorial services are being postponed until spring or summer 2021.
