Zachary Tyler Stone, age 29, of Des Moines, Iowa, passed away suddenly on Saturday, August 8, 2020, due to injuries sustained in a tragic accident. Zach was born April 22, 1991 in Houston, TX and moved to Des Moines Iowa in his first year of life to grow up closer to family.

He was a graduate of Roosevelt High School. For the last 6 years he had been working as a Fire Safety Tech, most recently for Continental Fire Sprinkler Company.

In his 29 years of life he grew up to be such a beautiful person inside and out. He was so loved...and he loved and appreciated his family and true friends so much! One thing his mom will miss are his “I love you” texts. Zach was her son and a best friend. He was always honest and open and expressed his feelings. He always let you know that he loved you and appreciated you. A rare quality that those who knew him will dearly miss.
From a very young age Zach loved Gods creations, down to the smallest bug, he could not smoosh them, he caught them and set them free. He had that love for all living things and the beauty of the earth his whole life. His dad will miss him, he was his son and his friend....their many fishing trips, trips to Canada, ski trips and the many times they hiked and camped the Hawaiian Islands together. Zach would say, “It’s so cool how Jehovah created everything!”

For the last 5 years he shared his adventures with his beautiful girlfriend, Amber Skiles. They loved exploring lakes and trails and finding new places to explore all over Iowa.
They made many precious memories together, exploring Panama and Boca Del Toro.
They loved being outdoors and had fun as long as they were together. Even the little things made them happy like going to get their favorite BOBA tea. Amber loved that Zach was so easy and comfortable to talk to. Always honest and true. She will cherish every one of those memories for the treasures they are!

He was a special person, a good friend, the kind you want to have and keep. His friend Mike described him as, “One of those gold coins that you carry for the rest of your life.”

Zach was also very smart and inquisitive and researched whatever he was passionate about. Some of his passions included; motorcycles and riding, he loved being on 2 wheels. Music and layering sounds and music mixes. Computers and gaming, he was a bit of a techy guy! Last year his passion for spiritual things was reignited and he was enjoying delving into the deeper things of God. He loved Proverbs 2:4, 5
“If you keep seeking for it as for silver, and you keep searching for it as for hidden treasures; then you will understand the fear of Jehovah...”
Zach loved Jehovah and firmly believed in his word the Bible. He had a strong hope of living on God’s righteous earth in the near future. He was also confident in the promise of the resurrection hope. We’ll miss his infectious smile and the cutest grin, his bright brown eyes, his hugs, his laugh and his love. Until the time we can see him again, he is safe in Jehovah’s memory........

Zach was the only precious child to Polly (Darren) Rich; precious son to Ron (Nora) Hardenbrook; loving boyfriend to Amber Skiles; cherished grandson of Mary Stone; treasured nephew of Kelli (Gary) Jacobs, Linda (Gary) Roberts, Terri (Jim) Akins, Don (Marie) Hardenbrook, Lori Clark, Randy (Mary) Hardenbrook, Dina (Dan) Heithoff, Dirk (Monica) Rich; dear cousin to Elisha (Drew) Young, Tia Jacobs, Hailey Stone, Seth Stone, Mason Stone, Maria (Matthew) Garcia, Brad (Sheila) Roberts, Melissa (Pete) Nelson, Scott (Brenda) Hardenbrook, Beck (Riley) Hardenbrook, Chris Clark, Chad Clark, Holly (Billy) Jones, Danielle (Tor-Erik) Knudsen, David Heithoff, Dalton Heithoff, Derek Rich, Jared (Becca) Droll.
