Ruth Janice Jolly

Ruth Jolly, 87, ascended to heaven on October 4, 2009. She passed on from renal failure at Taylor House Hospice.
A memorial service will be held on Wednesday, October 7, 2009 at 7:00 p.m. at Hamilton’s near Highland Memory Gardens, 121 NW 60th Ave., Des Moines. Visitation will precede the service from 5-7 p.m. Graveside services will be held 11:00 a.m. Thursday, October 8, 2009 at Highland Memory Gardens Cemetery, 1 NE 60th Ave., Des Moines.
Ruth was born on a farm near Norwalk, Iowa. Her family moved to Indianola when she was 12 years old. Ruth graduated from Indianola High School and attended Simpson College for two years before becoming a registered nurse at Iowa Lutheran Hospital in Des Moines, in 1944. She was a member of Evangelical Covenant Church.
Ruth was preceded in death by her daughter, Melody; and her parents, Lewis and Fern Johnson. She is survived by her husband, Fay; daughter, Crystal of Des Moines; son-in-law, Reverend Carl Heuss (Susan) of Colorado; two sisters, Jeanne Woodruff of Indianola and Rita Conejo of Texas; brother, Merrill Johnson of Indianola; and five grandchildren.
