Nella Cassettari 88, passed away February 23, 2010 at Mercy Hospice in Johnston. Mass of Christian burial will be 10:30 AM Saturday at Christ the King Catholic Church with burial following at Glendale Cemetery. A visitation will be from 4-6 PM Friday at Hamilton’s Southtown Funeral Home.
Nella was born March 26, 1921 in Des Moines and was a licensed cosmetologist who owned her own business.
She is survived by her sisters, Lena Cassettari and Inez Stewart; nieces, Ellen (Jim) Becker, Margaret (Dennis) Allen; nephew, John Cassettari; great niece, Theresa Becker; great nephew, Matthew (Kimberly) Becker; 1 great great niece and 2 great great nephews.
Memorial Contributions may be made to Bishop Drumm Care Center or Christ the King Catholic Church.

To Nella's Family:
You do not know me, but many years ago Nella (and possibly Inez, too) used to do my grandmother's hair. My grandma was Bernice Cohron, and she frequently spoke of Nella and your whole family with high regard; I was just a small child, but I do remember this. Grandma didn't allow herself many luxuries, but getting her hair done was something she enjoyed, and she enjoyed visiting with Nella even more. Grandma died in 1984, and the years have marched on, but I always remember and am grateful for Nella's kindness to her.
