Algaretta Beeler

Algaretta Kiefer-Beeler, 87, died Tuesday, March 30, 2010 at her home in Perry surrounded by her family. A funeral service will be held 1 p.m. Friday, April 2, 2010 at Hamilton’s Funeral Home, 605 Lyon Street, with burial to follow at Cory Grove Cemetery near Elkhart. Visitation will be held 5-7 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
Algaretta was born April 13, 1922 to Ross and Hazel Ault on the family farm near Elkhart. She was baptized at Elkhart Christian Church where she was a member. She graduated from Elkhart High School where she sang in a trio. Algaretta raised her family in Des Moines and then moved to Trenton, MO in 1971 where she resided until recently. Algaretta enjoyed gardening and making ceramics and other crafts. Her greatest love was spending time with her loving family.
Algaretta is survived by her children, Dick (Bev) Kiefer, Bonnie (Dave) Kiefer-Tracy, Susan (Sonny) Kiefer-McLeran, and David (Kelli) Kiefer; 17 grandchildren; 33 great-grandchildren; 16 great-great grandchildren; sister, Marjorie Hargens; and a host of other family and beloved friends.
She is joining her first husband, Frank Kiefer; second husband, Charles Beeler; sons, Donald Kiefer, Douglas Kiefer, and Daniel Kiefer; daughter, Janet McFadden; grandson, Scott Kiefer; and several brothers and sisters.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be given to Hospice of Central Iowa, Boone/Perry Chapter.
