Charlotte Sparks, 85, died Tuesday, April 20, 2010 at Methodist Hospital in Des Moines. She was born on May 29, 1924 to David and Sally Noel in Luan, Arkansas.
Charlotte enjoyed reading her Bible, old time country music, reading romance novels, Chicago Cubs baseball, and collecting dolls and owls. She was a very kind and loving person, and loved spending time with her family, including her dogs. She always had a smile on her face and encouraged laughter, repeating a favorite saying to her boys, “Don’t you try me!”
Charlotte is survived by her husband of 40 years, Jack; children, Madeline (John) Uthe, LaRae (Donald) Sutton, Robert Squire, John (Barb) Squire, and Steve (Nancy) Squire; grandchildren, Hilary (Curtis) Perry, Haydn (Erin) Hirstine, Alicia Squire, Layton Squire, Loren Squire, Shane Squire, Michael Sutton, Kelly (Nick) Kraska, Jason (Tatum) Martin, Heather Sparks, Edward Gramlich, Tommy Howell, and Janet Sparks; great-grandchildren, Ravyn Perry, Taryn Perry, Tanner Hirstine, Cade Hirstine, Cooper Sweeney, Taylon Squire, Desiree Lepore, Cadence Lepore, Alyssa Rakowski, Travis Wilson, Niko Howell, and Lexi Howell; sister, Connie Brooks; brothers, David (Connie) Noel, and George (Dixie) Noel; step-daughter, Martha Taggett; and step-son, Richard Sparks.
Funeral Services will be 4:00 p.m. Thursday, April 22, 2010 at Hamilton’s Altoona Funeral Home, 105 4th Street SW, Altoona. Family will greet friends one hour prior to the service.
Memorial Contributions may be made to the family in loving memory of Charlotte.

We are sad to hear about Charolotte's passing! Our thoughts and prayers are with all of you. A smile crosses my face as I think about Charlotte. She was so loving and always made amusing comments! She'll be greatly missed by all of us!
Unfortunately, we are unable to attend the service since we now live in Arizona. We will be thinking of you!
