My thoughts and prayers are with Dana's family. Dana and I have known each other since I was 2yrs old. We grew up together and I have sooo many memories. Dana was like a big sister to me. We played school as kids(with Dana being the teacher) and did the crazy things teenagers do. She was a big part of my life. As friends we shared every secret. She always had a way with my dad by sitting on his lap and asking him if I could spend the night and he always gave into her. I lost my dad at 14 and Dana was always there for me through those hard times. When I think of Dana I think of all the fun we had and the crazy things we did as kids and teenagers. All the laughter and the tears. I have too many memories to list. Dana you always had a special place in my heart and always will. I will miss you so much! Rest in peace my friend and I will see you again someday!
Love you, DeeDee

I'm sorry to hear the news about Dana. It has been about 5 years since I have seen or talked with Dana. I do remember the last time I seen her was eastside night at the Iowa State Fair (something we always loved to do!) I will always remember the fun times I had with Dana cruising around in her white camero driving to the parks and hanging out waiting to see who would show up! Honestly I have to say that was only one of the many many things we did together lots of memories and pictures I have to cherish.
Dana you will be missed.

I saw Dana for the first time when she got put on life support. Though she couldn't speak or remember anything i wanted so badly to meet her. I met her because her cousin Tammy Erickson is like my mother and so badly wanted to see her cousin when she needed her the most. I gladly took her to see Dana thank God because we never knew if she was going to make it. A few weeks later they decided to take her off life support and i had the blessing to finally meet her and introduce myself. I had heard so many good things about her from Tammy and it was so sad to me that i had to meet her the way she was. She was so kind and willing letting me see her in her condition without knowing me before. Her kindness and warm smile was so touching and i couldn't thank god enough to have had the chance to meet such a strong and kind person, The day i got to meet her was January 25th 2011 the day they were taking her to Iowa city. The funny part of this is Dana was so happy that day because Tammy snuck her in a Big mac from McDonald's. She was so scared of the nurses seeing her she mad me guard the door. we had such a good time laughing so hard because we were being so sneaky. I will never forget how open hearted she was and how pretty she was. Though i only met her once she touched my heart. and i cant express enough how much of a blessing it was that i got to meet her just once before she passed away. Funny story about Dana I am best friends with her cousin Trevor and one day she decided to cook fried chicken and mashed potatoes the funny part of the story is he was so amazed by her cooking because his mother had never cooked chicken or anything for that matter in the house lol he told her he had only seen fried chicken in restraints or the deli in a store. He then asked her to cook for his birthday. That is one good memory he will never forget. Dana you will be so missed God bless you and rest in peace. February 2nd 2011
