To the family and friends of Chris.
It broke my heart when I did a search for Chris and found this. I knew Chris for the few years that he was living in California and he was a great friend. We went to Tioga Junior high school, and Sierra Freshman High School. After the family moved to the midwest we stayed in touch intermittently but he was always on my mind. The last time I saw Chris was in the summer of 1991 or 92 when he was in southern California on a business trip and we just happened to be in Long Beach at the same time.
I don't know if Chris ever mentioned me but I needed to send my condolences.
Currently I am living in Japan.
If this message can make its way to Paul and Rachel, send them my best.
I can be reached at this email: erichkofu@yahoo.com
Feel free to email me.

I have so many wonderful memories of you, Chris, growing up. Your laugh, your smile, your sense of humor, just your whole being. It saddens me that we hadn't kept in touch recently but with your passing, it is a reminder to me how important it is to stay in touch with those I love. Your sudden passing is such a shock, but I find comfort in knowing that you had such great faith and your great love for our Savior Jesus Christ. I am so blessed to have known you and be a part of your extended family. You will be missed and will NEVER BE FORGOTTEN.
To the family, I am sorry that you have to go through such pain. I'm thinking of you all and praying that God's love be with you, and your faith keeps you strong.
All my love and prayers.

I cant believe that your are gone from us Dad. Your time here on earth was way too short, but I know that you are in heaven with God. I may never understand why you were taken from us, but I take comfort in knowing that you are home with the lord, and someday we will be reunited again. I will never forget your beaming smile, our very long talks, and everything you taught me. I promise you that I will do my best to take care of mom and the boys, as I am the oldest and I know that you would expect me to love them enough to do so. I miss you so much words cannot even describe, and I promise we will celebrate your life. Despite you not being here in person, we will still celebrate fathers day this sunday as I know you are with us, and your birthday in september. I love you SO much but I will conclude now. Rest in peace my handsome strong father.

To Bear's family,
We are so sorry for your sudden loss and will pray for your family during this heartbreaking time. My brother was Andrew Hickman, Bear's neighbor who passed away last week. Bear made it a point to console my family after the services and told my dad that upon Andrew's death, he knew that it was his life's mission to work with kids and help them in any way he could. We also understand that Bear would often talk about Jesus with my brother, for which our family will be forever grateful. Andrew loved having Bear as a neighbor and a friend. We wish you peace as you learn to live with the changes in your life. We are so very sorry.
With love,
Kelty & Brian Rome
Ron & Lesly Hickman (Andrew's parents)
Grant & Christy Hickman (Andrew's older brother)
