Amy Jo Heaberlin, 76, passed away Sunday, May 18, 2025.

Amy was born October 5, 1948, in Des Moines, Iowa to Ivan and Zelma (McAfee) Terry. She worked for Principal Financial as an Administrator prior to her retirement. Her greatest joy was her family and her granddaughter, Isabelle was the light of her life. Izzie brought Amy out of her shell as there was nothing she wouldn’t do for her. She was her transportation to and from school, her shopping companion, her Girl Scout supporter, and her greatest champion.

She is survived by her daughter Jody O’Neal (John), son Paul (Jessica) Heaberlin, granddaughter Isabelle, siblings David Terry and Robin (Frank) Lester, and other extended family and friends.

Amy was preceded in death by her husband George, her parents, and her brother Ivan “Buddy” Terry, Jr.

Services will be held Tuesday, May 27, 2025, at Hamilton’s Funeral Home, 605 Lyon Street, Des Moines. Visitation will be from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. Funeral service will begin at 12:00 p.m. There will be a reception at Heritage Assembly of God Church after the service.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be directed to the family in loving memory of Amy.
