Automba John Tully

Automba John Tully, 84, passed away on Friday, May 9, 2025, at Parkridge Specialty Care in Pleasant Hill, Iowa.

Automba “John” was born on October 25, 1939, to Bill and Dode Tully in Des Moines, Iowa. He married the love of his life, Betty Oldes, in April of 1961. They had two daughters together.

John worked his whole life; working with gas pumps. Through the years he had worked for Clemensons, Seneca, and Mid Iowa Petroleum.

John loved going to the D.A.V., spending time at Prairie Meadows, and his VERY large dog. Above all, he loved his wife Betty, his children, grandkids, and great-grandkids.

John is survived by his two daughters, Chris (Nova) Lodsdon and Kathy (Evan) Snyder; his granddaughters, Heather (Mike) Neel and Helen (Rick) McKeehan; and his six great-grandchildren.

John was preceded in death by his parents, three sisters, and one VERY large dog.

Per John’s wishes, family will not be holding any services.

John’s family would like to send a very sincere thank-you to the staff at Parkridge Specialty Care and Hospice for his care. John thought the world of the whole team.
