Ada Marie Zinke

Ada Marie Zinke, 84, of Norwalk, IA, passed away Tuesday, December 30, 2025, at her home.
She was born December 23, 1943 in Springfield, IL, to John and Ruth Shaw. Ada was a 1959 graduate of Springfield High School. Afterwards she attended Brown’s Business College in Springfield, IL. Ada worked for Guide One Insurance doing underwriting support and for Norwalk High School as a library assistant.
Ada was a loving and caring: wife, mother, and grandmother. She loved her family, friends, flowers, pets, baking, and watching the birds in her garden. She shared her love of travel and adventure, as well as quiet afternoons and evenings reading books and relaxing on the back porch with a glass of iced tea, listening to the Norwalk Marching Band practice, with her loving husband Don.
Ada was a member of the Red Hat Society and of the Camper Club. She enjoyed, gardening, sewing, and watching her favorite teams: the Iowa Hawkeyes, the Denver Broncos, and the Minnesota Vikings.
Ada was preceded in death by her parents, John Bernard Shaw and Ruth Helen (Hanauer) Shaw Neat; sisters, Barbara Eades, Helen Eades, and Norma Brienich; and brother, John Shaw.
She is survived by her husband of 39 years, Don Zinke of Norwalk, IA; daughter, Kelly (Kevin) Haase of Des Moines, IA; son, Chris (Barb) Jackson of Rogers, AR; step-daughter, Chris (Jeff) Mozena of West Des Moines, IA; step-son, Mike (Rhonda) Zinke of Fairfax Station, VA; grandchildren, Makaila (Rush) Howard of Nashville, TN, McKenna (Zavier) Scott of Minneapolis, MN, Trenton (Samantha) Jackson of Ft. Worth, TX, Megan and Luke Mozena of West Des Moines, IA, Kyle Zinke of Fairfax Station, VA; and great-granddaughters, Virginia and Eliza Howard of Nashville, TN.
