Addey Baltzley-Pace

Adaline Malaya Baltzley-Pace, 8, passed away at her home on May 9, 2025 from Pneumonia surrounded by her family. She was able to give the gift of organ donation and her family is thankful that Addey can live on in the lives she was able to help.

She was born August 5, 2016 in Des Moines, Iowa. Addey attended Crocker Elementary School. Addey was not a big fan of the outdoors, but loved having tea parties, listening to stories, and being read to from the comfort of the indoors. She loved being goofy and was a major daddy’s girl. Addey brought joy to everyone she met and will be missed deeply.

She is survived by her parents, Anthony Nelson and Felicia Baltzley; older brother, Kurick Baltzley-Pace; older sisters, Chantelle Baltzley-Pace and Bianca Baltzley Pace; half-sister, Kallieonna Pratt; her grandparents; uncles, Robert Nelson, Richard (Sujeidy Figueroa) Baltzley, and Greg Baltzley; godmother, Angel Armstrong and daughter, Jaiden Dawson; caretaker, Megan Huisman; friends at Crocker Elementary; and a host of other loving friends and family.

Family will greet friends Tuesday, May 27, 2025 from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. at Hamilton’s near Highland Memory Gardens, 121 NW 60th Avenue in Des Moines. Memorial service will take place the following day, Wednesday, May 28, 2025 at 10 a.m. also at Hamilton’s near Highland Memory Gardens.

Family would like to send a special thank you to ChildServe Johnston, University of Iowa Health Care Stead Family Children’s Hospital, and Blank Children’s Hospital for the care they gave to Addey and her family.
