Alan Dean Lane

Alan Dean Lane passed away in Des Moines, Iowa on June 14, 2026, due to complications of Alzheimer’s. Alan was born in Runnells, Iowa on February 15, 1952 and remained a resident of Runnells, Iowa until his death, going to school at Runnells Elementary then on to Southeast Polk Jr. Sr. High School. He retired from Central Trailer Services Ltd in Altoona, Iowa.

Alan is preceded in death by his parents, Matthew and Wanita Lane; brother, Nicholas Lane; sister, Armelda Milligan; brother-in-law and sister, Carl and Wyola Pattern; sisters-in-law, Marsha Lane and Judy Lane; and granddaughter, Alexis Miller.

He is survived by his brothers, Matthew (Jr) Lane and Bill (Benita) Lane; sister, Twyla (Roland) Kern; son, Marc Lane; stepsons, Christopher (Jessica) Miller and Chad (Barb) Miller; stepdaughter, Elizabeth West; and a multitude of grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

His body is being cremated and no services are planned with a private burial at a later date.
