Angela Widner

Angela Marie Widner, 83, passed away on June 20, 2026 surrounded by her family.

Angela was born June 17, 1943 in Newfoundland, Canada to her parents Loren and Loretta Wright.

She enjoyed square dancing with her husband Frank and shopping for clothing. Angela loved raising her three beautiful daughters, Teresa, Deborah, and Jenifer. She never missed an opportunity to spend time with her friends and family. Angela treasured her Tuesday breakfasts with her girlfriends.

She is survived by her daughters, Teresa Carr and Deborah Phillips; step-children, Brenda Stish and Alan Widner; grandchildren, Megan, JR Burgett, Cassie Fortune, Lisa (John) Groen, Ricky Whitney, Anna (Zach) Stroener, Katie Phillips, Nathan (Ellie) Phillips, Jesslyn; great grandchildren, Brooklynn, Paxton, Gracelynn, Jack, Weston, Sophia, Rylee, Blessing, and Theo; brother, Jim (Linda) Wright; and a host of other loving family members.

Angela is preceded in death by her husband Frank Widner; daughter, Jenifer Widner; son-in-law, Marty Huisman; parents, Loren and Loretta Wright; and brother, Bub Wright

Family will greet guests Saturday, July 11, 2026 from 1:00 to 2:00 p.m. at Hamilton’s Funeral Home, 605 Lyon Street in Des Moines. Memorial service to follow at 2:00 p.m. Angela will be laid to rest at Rising Sun Cemetery NE 64th Street in Pleasant Hill at a later date.
