Anicet Hafashimana passed away on July 8, 2026, at UnityPoint Health Methodist Medical Center in Iowa.

Anicet was born on January 1, 1991, in Mboko, DRC, to James Bigirimana and Josephine Hakizimana. He attended Mount Pleasant High School in Providence, Rhode Island, and later worked for Smithfield Foods. He was united in marriage with Chantel Nishimwe, and God blessed them with three children: Joshua, James, and Elisha.

Anicet also leaves behind four brothers—Desire, Elias, Ferdinand, and Simon—and two sisters, Adidja and Tumaini. He joined a choir at an early age and later advanced to an evangelist role. May the Almighty grant him eternal rest and comfort to the family during this difficult time.

Anicet will be deeply missed and forever remembered for his kindness, wisdom and devotion to his family and friends. His warmth and generosity touched the lives of many.

A visitation will be held on Friday, July 31, 2026, from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Hamilton’s Southtown Funeral Home, 5400 SW 9th Street. A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, August 1st at 10:00 a.m. at Holy Spirit Unity Church in America, 720 E. 30th Street. Anicet will be laid to rest at Elm Grove Cemetery.
