A Funeral Mass will be held on Tuesday, February 17th at 10:00 a.m. at St. John the Apostle Catholic Church, 720 Orchard Hills Drive, Norwalk, Iowa, with interment at St. John’s Cemetery in Cumming, Iowa.

Ann was born on October 16, 1939, in Cumming, Iowa, to Homer and Annie (O'Donnell) Webb. She grew up in a close-knit rural community on a family farm. Her family consisted of nine siblings and all ten children were involved in helping make sure the farm ran smoothly and successfully. The five girls helped Annie with gardening, canning, cooking and baking, while the five boys helped Homer with the cattle, pigs, chickens and in the field. Ann’s upbringing was humble and simple. Farm life could be rather arduous at times but her home was always filled with love and faith in God.

Ann began her education at Cumming Independent School. She later attended St. Joseph's Academy and graduated from Norwalk High School in 1957. She married John W. Bishop on April 11, 1958. Together they raised their three children, Cindy, Debbie and John, on the south side of Des Moines. Ann and John were divorced in 1976. On May 26, 1981, Ann married Gary L. Jordison. They resided in Norwalk, Iowa; Lake of the Ozarks, Missouri; Cumming, Iowa and St. Charles, Iowa.

Following graduation, Ann embarked on a successful career in the insurance industry. She began working at Preferred Risk Mutual Insurance Company (now Guide One) and later joined General Casualty Insurance Company as a commercial underwriter. Her dedication and professionalism were evident throughout her career until her retirement in 1998.

Ann was raised in the Catholic faith, which remained a cornerstone of her life. She was baptized, confirmed, and married at St. John's Catholic Church in Cumming, Iowa—a parish that later relocated to Norwalk, where she remained a devoted member. In later years, when she could no longer drive, she attended St. Theresa’s Catholic Church in Des Moines with her sister Dorothy.

Family was the heart of Ann’s world. She is survived by her daughters, Cindy (Stan) Manning of Grimes, Iowa and Debbie (Tim) Olson of Montezuma, Iowa; and son, John Bishop of Robins, Iowa. Her legacy continues through her three granddaughters, Renee (Kurtis) Gibson of Grinnell, Iowa, Emily Manning of Grimes, Iowa and Erica (Joe) Watznauer of Dallas Center, Iowa; three great-grandchildren, Morgan, Rileigh and Joe (Taylor) Prior; a great-great-granddaughter, Paislee May Prior; and many nieces and nephews. She is also survived by her beloved sister, Dorothy Dawson of Urbandale, Iowa; sister-in-law, Frankie Webb of Cumming, Iowa; stepsons, Steve Jordison of Urbandale, Iowa and Rick Jordison of Indianola, Iowa; and brother-in-law, Tom Jordison of St. Charles, Iowa.

Ann was preceded in death by her parents; and brothers, Homer “William”, Charles “Chuck”, Richard “Earl”, James “Jim”, and Bernard “Barney” Webb; sisters, Alice Clearwater, Theresa Herrick and Frances (Mick) Slater; husband, Gary L. Jordison; stepdaughter, Kim Machovina; two stepgrandsons; and ex-husband, John W Bishop.

Known affectionately by her nickname “Tootie,” Ann found joy in life’s simple pleasures—reading a good book, volunteering at the library, playing the piano or keyboard with joy, listening to music, shopping for treasures and antiques, sharing coffee with family and friends, enjoying her 5 o'clock cocktail, watching Gunsmoke, and always making time for Mass. Her faith guided her steps throughout life. Ann and Gary traveled occasionally to visit family and friends, but her most memorable excursion was to Ireland with her favorite cousin, Karen Bruening.

In recent years as she faced the challenges of Alzheimer’s disease with quiet strength and dignity, Ann found renewed light with the birth of her great-great-granddaughter Paislee in March 2024—a moment that brought immense joy to her final chapter.

Ann will be remembered as a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, great-great-grandmother, sister and friend whose warmth touched many lives. May Ann’s memory bring comfort to those who knew and loved her.

Memorial contributions may be made to St. John the Apostle Catholic Church, Wesley Life Hospice or The Home Place-Grimes, Iowa in loving memory of Ann.
