Bernadine V. Rewalt

Bernadine Victoria Rewalt, age 87, passed away Thursday, March 12, 2026.

Berni was born April 21, 1938, in Palatine, Illinois to Sydney and Natalie “Della” (Lata) Koval. She earned her bachelor’s degree in library sciences and worked as a bookkeeper, lastly for Sands Volleyball Club prior to her retirement. Berni was talented at sewing and quilting. She enjoyed spending time gardening. Above all, Berni’s family was her greatest joy and she treasured time spent with them.

She is survived by her daughter, Michelle Byers; son, Alan (Dana) Rewalt; grandchildren, Ross Byers, Dean Byers, Alexis Rewalt, and Alan Gary “AJ” Rewalt; her cat, Binx; and other extended family and friends.

Berni was preceded in death by her parents, Sydney and Della Koval.

According to Berni’s wishes, cremation will occur and there will be no services held at this time.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be directed to the family for a future designation.
