Barbara Gaskill

Barbara Gaskill, 87, passed away on April 26, 2026 at Regency Care Center in Norwalk, Iowa.

Barbara was born February 7, 1939. She married the love of her life, Larry Gaskill on July 17, 1959. Barbara enjoyed reading, word search puzzles, being outdoors and going to the lake. She loved cooking, a family favorite was chicken and dumplings and homemade noodles. Barbara had a special love for her dogs, somedays probably more than her kids.

Barbara is survived by her children, Larry A. Gaskill and Peggy (Curtis) Heuton; grandchildren, Dustin (Stephanie), Jerrod (Ashley) and Zach Gaskill and Kasey and Heather (Scott Burkett) Heuton; great-grandchildren, Gauge, Bowen, Hayden, Huntlee and Izzy.

She was preceded in death by her loving husband of 55 years, Larry R. Gaskill and her brother, Michael Downey.

A Celebration of Barbara’s Life will be held on Thursday, April 30, 2026 at 5:00 p.m. at Larry’s home, 321 E. Pleasantview Drive in Des Moines.
