Betty Boley

Reverend Betty Jean Boley, 67, passed away November 23, 2025.
She was born October 25, 1958 to her parents, Louis and Betty Lloyd. Betty graduated from East High School in 1977. She became an ordained minister from Shalom Bible College and Seminary. Betty was very active in her ministries, including “John 3:16” and “Gathering of the Sparrows”. She also worked for Per Mar at the Ronald McDonald House at Mercy for many years.
She is survived by her husband, Oran Boley; son, Michael (Becky) Curtis; daughter, Michele (Craig) Chance; 4 grandchildren, Fallon (Jaylen), Owen, Isaac, and Layla; two great grandsons, Keegan and Carter Cooper and one on the way, Juliette Anne; brother, Louis (Kathy) Lloyd; sisters, Shirley Lloyd, and Dixie (Bob) Potter.
Betty was preceded in death by her infant son, Matthew Curtis; parents, Louis and Betty Lloyd; brothers, Gaylord Lloyd and Raymond Lloyd; grandmother, Ethel Brooks; grandfather, David Brooks; and many aunts and uncles.
Family will greet friends Thursday, December 4, 2025 from 10:00 to 12:00 p.m. at Hamilton’s near Highland Memory Gardens, 121 NW 60th Avenue Des Moines, Iowa with service to follow at 12:00 p.m. also at the funeral home. Burial to follow services at Highland Memory Gardens, 1 NE 60th Avenue Des Moines, Iowa.

Aunt Betty I'm so glad you're now able to rest easy and have no more pain. You were a genuinely sweet, positive person and I'll always remember your smile, your kindness and the light in your eyes. Tell dad I miss him. I bet he was there waiting for you. Love Mynde

Pastor Betty will be greatly missed. She was like a momma to many women in the church who lost there’s at an early age love and miss you momma fly with the angels.
